Gadiara

Gadiara is a small village located 28 km from Garchumuk. Situated at the confluence of the Hooghly, Damodar and Rupnarayan rivers, Gadiara is a fantastic picnic spot. The main attractions of Gadiara are the ruins of the Mornington Point Fort and the lighthouse. The view of sunrise and sunset in the waters of the rivers is amazing. The best time to visit Gadiara is winter.

Charges - Large Shed Rs. 5000/-, Standard Shed Rs. 3000/-

Launches are available to ferry tourists from Gadiara to Geonkhali via Nurpur.

How to Reach

You can reach Uluberia, Phuleswar or Bagnan from Howrah by train. From there buses are plying to Gadiara. You can also reach Gadiara directly from Kolkata by bus or car via Uluberia-Atanna Gate-Shyampur. Otherwise you can board Nurpur-bound bus from Kolkata. Gadiara is a 15 minutes boat ride from there.
