Ullas Picnic Spot is an awesome picnic spot located 3 km from Bandel Railway Station in Hooghly district of West Bengal. The picnic spot sprawls over more than 3 bighas of land and is perfect for a day’s outing. How to Reach

Local trains are running from Howrah to Bandel. Ullas Picnic Garden is 3 km from Bandel station. Auto rickshaws and totos are available from Bandel station to reach Ullas Picnic Spot. If you plan to go by car, you can come via BT Road/Dunlop/Dakshineswar and then take the Delhi Road. From Rajhat More in Bandel, you have to take right turn towards Bandel Station Road. Ullas Picnic Garden is a 1-minute drive from Rajhat More. The picnic spot will be on the left side of the road.

The Wonder World

The Wonder World is an amusement park located at Diara in Hooghly district of West Bengal. There is a separate picnic spot situated in a lush green, peaceful and tranquil ambiance away from the hustle and bustle of city life. The picnic spot is adjacent to the amusement park. One can enjoy the various attractions of the park including artificial iceland, roller coaster, toy train, paddle boating and pirate ship. How to Reach

You can board Tarakeshwar or Arambagh bound local train from Howrah and disembark at Diara. Auto rickshaws and van rickshaws are available from Diara station to reach The Wonder World Park.

RC Garden

RC Garden is an ideal picnic spot near Bansberia in Hooghly district of West Bengal. The picnic spot is located in a peaceful and serene environment away from city rush. RC Garden lies on the bank of Damodar River surrounded by nature. Facilities for playing outdoor games like football, cricket and badminton are available. A stage is also there for the purpose of conducting functions and events. Toilet facility is available too.

RC Garden is open for picnic on Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays.
Several groups are allowed to picnic here at the same time.

How to Reach

Local trains are running from Howrah (South Eastern Railway) to Kulgachia. A 10 minutes autorickshaw ride from Kulgachia station will take you to RC Garden. Alternatively, you can board Bagnan-bound CTC bus from Esplanade and disembark at Kulgachia Tulsiberia More. It is 50 km from Kolkata and takes about an hour to reach by road.

Amrakunja

Amrakunja Picnic Garden is a beautiful picnic spot situated in Mankundu in Hooghly district of West Bengal. The park consists of more than 3 acres of land laden with mango orchards. The garden is surrounded by high fencing wall. Nestled in the lap of nature, Amrakunja offers an ideal retreat for picnic lovers.

Mayur Mahal

You can board Barddhaman-bound (Main Line) local train from Howrah and disembark at Bandel station. Rickshaws are available from Bandel to reach Rajeshwaripur. Rajeshwaripur is easily accessible from Adi Saptagram and Chinsurah too. You can also drive from Kolkata to reach this picnic spot.

Pallabi Nursery

How to Reach

Banabithi Picnic Spot is located close to Bhadreswar railway station which lies on the Howrah-Bandel line. Local trains are running from Howrah to Bhadreswar station. A 10-minutes autorickshaw ride from Bhadreswar station will take you to Banabithi Park and Picnic Spot. The park is easily accessible from Baidyabati station too.

Matri Niwas

Matri Niwas Picnic Spot is situated 3 km from Bandel station. The spot spans over an area of 7 bigha. Apart from the mango and litchi gardens the picnic spot also hosts ponds, houseboats, cottages and tents. There is a separate children's playground. The prime attractions of this place are the rabbits, swans, guinea pigs and turkeys. Peacocks are also seen here in the morning. You may also visit Debanandapur, the birth place of Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay. The library at Debanandapur is worth seeing.

Chuti Park

Chuti Park is an ideal picnic spot developed by the Chandannagar Municipal Corporation. Inside the park there are slippers, baby taxi, mickey mouse, laughing house and jungle gym for amusement of children. There is a toy train too. Entry fee for each ride is around Rs. 10-15/-. Toilet and car parking facilities are also available.

Bainchi Bungalow Garden

Bainchi Bungalow is an ideal picnic spot located close to Bainchi on the Howrah-Bardhaman Main Line. The farmhouse covers an area of 5 bigha. There is a children's park and flower garden along with ample trees which make picnic at this farmhouse an awesome experience.

Each day one group is allowed to picnic at this bungalow.

Bainchi is 70 km from Howrah. You can board the Howrah-Bardhaman Main Local from Howrah station and disembark at Bainchi. You can also reach Bainchi Bungalow directly by car via GT Road.

Chandur

Chandur Forest is located near Arambagh town of Hooghly district. Situated on the banks of Dwarekwar river, Chandur is a reserved forest. Picnic in the forest amidst green trees and chirping birds is an awesome experience. The forest hosts trees like Shal, Teak, Shimul, Tamal, Sonajhuri etc. The river is at the end of the forest area.

Arambagh can be reached by road from Kolkata via Tarakeshwar. This beautiful picnic spot is situated between Bardhhaman and Arambagh. Chandur is 40 km from Bardhhaman and 4 km from Arambagh.

Raja Rammohan Roy Tourist Centre

Raja Rammohan Roy Tourist Centre is an ideal picnic spot situated in Radhanagar village of Hooghly district. The spot is surrounded by nature and covers an area of 12 acres. Raja Rammohan Roy was born in the year 1772 in this village. You can visit Satidah Bedi, Rammohan's House, Radhakanta Jiu - Gopinath Jiu - Ghanteswar Temple, Rammohan Roy Library etc. Garmandaran, Kamarpukur and Jairambati are also located nearby.

How to Reach

Local trains are running from Howrah to Tarakeshwar. You can reach Ramnagar from there by bus (Rt. 20). Buses are available from Ramnagar to Langulpara. From Langulpara, you can reach Radhanagar by walk or rickshaw. Direct buses are also available from Tarakeshwar to Radhanagar. Distance between Tarakeshwar and Radhanagar is 45 km.You can also reach Radhanagar by bus from Esplanade Bus Terminus in Kolkata.

Rajbalhat

Rajbalhat is fast becoming a popular picnic spot. It is situated in Jangipara Block of Hooghly district. In the 16th Century, Rajbalhat was the capital of Bhursut dynasty's empire. The main attraction of Rajbalhat is the Rajballabh Temple which was constructed in the year 1728. The Terracotta work on the walls of the temple is amazing. There are two other Terracotta temples at Rajbalhat - Radhakanta Temple and Sreedhar Damodar Temple. A number of ponds and open grounds are there beside the temples.

Important Information

There is no need for permission to picnic at Rajbalhat.
You can buy the necessary items for picnic from the local market or Haripal market.

How to Reach

Local trains are running from Howrah to Haripal station. You can reach Rajbalhat from there by bus (Rt no 10). Rajbalhat is 22 km from Haripal. Direct buses are also running from Howrah and Esplanade Bus Terminus to Rajbalhat.

Turkey Farm House

Turkey Farm House is located behind Rajhat High School near Bandel Station. Situated in a calm, serene and peaceful environment, Turkey Farm House is an ideal picnic spot. The picnic spot covers an area of 10 bigha. Inside the farmhouse there is children's park, lawn, pond and different types of trees. There are swings and slips for amusement of children inside the children's park. One can see peacocks in the Rajhat Forest.

Durgeshnandini Picnic Spot has been developed at Garmandaran by the Hooghly Zilla Parishad. The picnic spot has come up over an area of 150 bigha. Aqua Marina Water Theme Park is the latest addition to the list of picnic spots in the district of Hooghly. The park is located 1 km from Hooghly station  A number of water games and sports are there in the park. There is a picnic garden, suite room, conference hall and swimming pool. Apart from boating facilities, there are other things for amusement like roller skating, moon walker etc. Water rides include slide pool, water pool, wave pool, pogo pool etc. The nearby attractions include Hooghly Imambara, Bandel Church and Debanandapur.

The park is situated at a distance of 35 km from Kolkata. You can reach Hooghly station from Howrah by train. From there you can either walk or take a rickshaw ride to reach Aqua Marine Water Theme Park. If you go by car, take GT Road and reach Hooghly.

You can reach Bandel from Howrah or Sealdah station by train. From there you can get bus or rickshaw to reach Bandel Church Picnic Spot. It takes about an hour to reach there.

Malia

Malia is situated in Hooghly district of West Bengal. Kashi Vishwanath Mandir is a wonderful picnic spot located on the Baidyabati-Tarakeswar Road. The temple is surrounded by garden. Apart from the Vishwanath Mandir, there are different things for amusement for children.

Important Information

Generally local people charge a small fee for picnic outside the temple.
There are no markets in Malia.
Hence it is better to brings the necessary requirements for picnic from Kolkata.

Sabuj Deep

Sabuj Deep is a magnificent picnic spot run by Hooghly Zilla Parishad and WBSFDC. The place is situated at a distance of 75 km from Kolkata. It is an islet located near Balagarh at the confluence of Behula and Hooghly rivers. Spanning over an area of 180 bigha, Sabuj Deep Picnic Spot is dotted with pine, palm, eucalyptus, teak, Mahogony and other trees. The picnic spot hosts a children's park, flower garden, restaurant and a view tower. You can also go for a boat ride in the river.

Important Information

Sabuj Deep remains open from 8 am to 6 pm.
Boat fare : Rs. 50/- per head.
Toilet and drinking water facilities is available here. There is a park too.
A few restaurants, tea and soft drinks stalls are set up during the peak season.
