Bancharamer Bagan Picnic Spot

Bancharamer Bagan is a nice picnic spot located in Baruipur in South 24 Parganas district of West Bengal. The picnic spot is a beautiful garden inside the Rajbari (palace) of Raja Rajballabh Roychowdhury. The garden became well known as 'Bancharamer Bagan', thanks to director Tapan Sinha's famous Bengali movie Bancharamer Bagan. Spanning over an area of 5 bighas, the place is laden with mango, litchi, sapota and other trees. Every year during winter, the place is visited by numerous picnic lovers.

You need to take prior permission for picnic.
There are two picnic spots - one small and one large.
Picnic Charges: Rs. 4500 (small spot), Rs. 6500 (large spot)

Buses and trains are available from Kolkata to reach Baruipur. Bancharamer Bagan Picnic Spot is 3 km from Baruipur railway station. You can reserve an auto rickshaw from Baruipur to reach the picnic spot.

K D Mallick Garden

K.D. Mallick Garden is a excellent picnic spot situated in South 24 Parganas district of West Bengal. The picnic spot is located in Narendrapur, adjacent to the city of Kolkata. It is maintained by the Rajpur-Sonarpur Municipality. The garden covers an area of three and a half bigha and is beautifully decorated with flowers, trees and shrubs. The natural ambiance of the place makes it ideal for picnic during the winter months.

How to Reach

Local trains are running from Sealdah to Sonarpur. Auto rickshaws are available from Sonarpur station to reach Rathtala. The picnic spot is located close to Rathtala.

Mayur Mahal

Mayur Mahal is a beautiful picnic spot situated in Hooghly district of West Bengal. It is located at Rajeswaripur, 4 km from Rajhaat and is maintained by the Polba Panchayet Samiti. Set in a mesmerizing natural surrounding, the picnic spot spans over an area of about 1 km. Mayur Mahal is loaded with lots of greenery - trees, shrubs and flowers. There is a lake inside the picnic spot with boating facilities too. You may also sight peacocks and ducks at the Mayur Mahal Picnic Spot.

There are entry fees for entering Mayur Mahal Picnic Spot.

How to Reach

You can board Barddhaman-bound (Main Line) local train from Howrah and disembark at Bandel station. Rickshaws are available from Bandel to reach Rajeshwaripur. Rajeshwaripur is easily accessible from Adi Saptagram and Chinsurah too. You can also drive from Kolkata to reach this picnic spot.
