Dhamakhali

Dhamakhali is a great picnic spot situated in North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal. The place is located at the confluence of two rivers - Rampur and Chhoto Kalagachia. The scenic beauty of the place is mesmerizing. Dhamakhali is situated close to the Sundarbans. One can take a boat ride to a nearby island of Sundarbans to get a glimpse of the world's largest mangrove forests.

There is a Zilla Parishad Bungalow consisting of rooms, bathrooms and a beautifully decorated park.
You can book the bungalow and obtain permission for picnic at the park.


How to Reach

Dhamakhali is 72 km from Kolkata. Buses are available from Science City, EM Bypass to reach Dhamakhali via Basanti Highway. You can also drive to Dhamakhali from Kolkata. Take Basanti Highway from Science City and drive past Bantala Leather Complex, Bhangar, Minakhan, Malancha and Sarberia. From there turn left and go straight to reach Dhamakhali.
